how everything began !
In 2022, me (Claudiu) and Nicoleta married at Recas.
The next day we had a photo shoot at Recas Winery, that purely left a mark.
The history, the scenery, the dedication and efforts in every bottle, seeing this I wanted to bring that to UK wine lovers!
Sharing those wines with family and friends on such an important day made me realize wine can hold memories. Years later, opening that same bottle can bring back that memories.
And that was really the beginning of Passion Wines!
From 1447 to the Present
The story of wine at Recaș began almost six centuries ago.
The first documented pages of this story date back to 1447, when a notarial document, now preserved in the treasury of the Banat Museum, recorded for the first time in written sources the existence of the Recaș Vineyards.
The document records that Mihail de Ciorna, Ban of Severin, purchased the vineyards on these lands from nobles Ioan and Ecaterina Magyar for the sum of 32 florins — the Hungarian gold coin that circulated during that period.
Time passed, generations changed, and the world of wine evolved. Yet the connection between these lands and the vine remained.
Cramele Recas Histrory
A new and important chapter began in 1991, with the establishment of Cramele Recaș.
Its mission was to carry forward the heritage of the ancient traditions and wine culture of these lands, while continuing the development of the quality of Banat wine from Recaș through significant investment, innovation and passion.
Today, Cramele Recaș is a Romanian-British company, cultivating approximately 1,200 hectares of vineyards in Recaș, Timiș County.
From a story that began in 1447, Recaș has grown into one of the most important names in Romanian wine, ranking first among Romanian wine producers by turnover and becoming the largest exporter of bottled wine from Romania.

Three milestones in time, connected by the same bond with the land.
Because a true wine carries more than a name on its label. It carries the place it comes from, the people who created it, and a story that began long before we ever opened the bottle.

We also work with restaurants, hotels, bars, and pubs, helping them offer guests something beyond the usual, wines that can become hidden gems on a wine list.
