• Description
  • For this wine, fully ripe grapes are used, picked from the best plots of the vineyard's 158 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is produced only in exceptional years (the last ones being 2015, 2018 and 2019) and only from exceptional grapes. The wine is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and reflects very well the quality potential of red wines from Recaş. Planted on plots with maximum sunshine time, the grapes are sorted and picked at full maturity. Long, warm autumns are necessary for perfect ripening and rounding of tannins. The winemakers have the opportunity to choose for Selene the best grapes from the vast area dedicated to this variety - in order to obtain a wine with a perfect aromatic fruit-body-tannin balance. The year 2021 was the perfect year for red varieties from Recaș, one of the best in the last 40 years.
